The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Assistant Director of Strategic Outreach & Recruitment position. The minimum starting salary for this position is$59332. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidates qualifications and experience.
This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.
Develop and implement strategic recruitment initiatives that attract competitive students both in-state and out-of-state. Collaborate closely with recruitment staff to ensure goals are achieved and contribute to the Universitys overall enrollment objectives. As part of the Undergraduate Admissions Strategic Outreach & Recruitment team the Assistant Director participates in recruitment activities at the state regional and national levels. Represent the University at on- and off-campus events and conduct application reviews for admission. This role also works alongside the Director of Strategic Outreach & Recruitment on strategic planning assessment and event coordination. Additionally the position supervises a portion of the Strategic Outreach & Recruitment staff and serves as the lead supervisor for the UT Student Trained Admissions Representative (STAR) team.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree-
Professional experience in admissions counseling advising at a secondary school or a regionally accredited college or university.
Experience giving oral presentations.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to meet deadlines.
Attention to detail listening and interpersonal skills.
Ability to independently and strategically plan visits events and presentations.
Ability to lift transport and distribute objects up to 40 pounds.
Excellent oral presentation public speaking and written communication skills.
Ability to problem solve and research solutions.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masters Degree-
Experience in advising mentoring and/or event planning for diverse high school and/or college students.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning data driven decision making and relationship building.
Territory management report building and maintenance and the use of data driven decision making for planning and strategy development.
Experience with planning and executing events.
Experience managing or leading a team of people.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of university travel policies.
Comprehensive knowledge of admissions process including extensive knowledge of policies and practices influencing the enrollment of students.
Experience creating managing and accessing events particularly those serving diverse students and families.
Ability to establish and maintain broad-based and diverse coalitions of community-based organizations religious organizations and communities.
Ability to work with new technologies and all forms of social media to enhance recruitment.
