Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for a contract position.
The ideal candidate has great communication skills can remove roadblocks detail oriented and has a knack for breaking websites.
QAEs regularly work with Developers Product Managers and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment.
During the development cycle QAEs identify use cases create test cases execute tests and report results.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 2-4 years industry experience testing software including website applications.
Experience with HTML JavaScript Java and SQL is desired but not required.
Experience with Selenium highly desired Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment.
Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle.

Leadership Principles:

Ambiguity: The degree that test plan1 testing procedures2 and test solution requirements are defined. Also clarifies how much supervision is required vs. when a QA can deliver independently.
Scope and Influence: Recommended scope for each QA level (e.g. team3 multiple teams organization4). Includes when levels influence developing others and drive best practices.
Execution: Concise view of QA expectations including which levels are tactical5and strategic6. Effective end-to-end delivery as evidenced by timeliness and success of verifying test project7 requirements/objectives. Includes how a QA level escalates (vs. handles escalations) and a type of trade-off they may make.
Impact: On product8 quality testability maintainability and/or architecture.
Technical9: Understands test methods (e.g. functional unit integration system performance etc.) and the Software Test Life Cycle (STLC). Clarifies QA levels that perform manual vs. create automated test solutions10.
Process Improvement: How QAs increase efficiency with testing (i.e. bug management test strategy move quality upstream etc.) and in engineering (e.g. software maintainability operational excellence etc.) practices.
Experience: Recommendation to meet level expectations. A college degree or formal training is not required if the candidate has equivalent knowledge gained from experience

What background does someone have that is successful in this role

The QATs will operate a robotic technology recently acquired by FTR AR RDPI at sortation centers and support testing as part of onboarding this tech into RDPIs product development process.
Testing will include execution of Test Plans developed by RDPI Global Engineering Test Engineers including executing test cases collecting and analyzing data and reporting results.
The QATs will engage and take direct guidance from Test Engineers (TE) TE Manager and Engineering Leads.
They will also engage with local sortation site personnel: Operations RME WHS etc.

Quality Assurance background: system function testing KPI driven vs. check the box.
Effective communication including up the line to leaders/stakeholders
Ability to be agile and self sufficient in ambiguous spaces.
