POSITION: A full-time university staff position is available in Speech Language & Hearing Sciences beginning 2/1/2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The working title for this assignment is Academic Department Associate - SLHS with an official title of Department Assistant. This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

DUTIES: Serve as the operations manager for the department office and for the UWEC Speech and Language Clinic. Serve as budget manager for the Department and for the S&L Clinic. Assist the Clinic Director with administration of the S&L Clinic. Serve as administrative assistant to departmental administrators.
THE UNIT: The unit of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences consists of 18 staff members serving undergraduate and graduate students. The field of speech language and hearing sciences prepares students to work with individuals across the age span who face challenges with communication social interaction cognitive function and swallowing. We have high expectations for all of our undergraduate and graduate students and a proven track record of impactful teaching and learning experiences.
