**THIS IS A SUMMER POSITION. EMPLOYMENT IS SEASONAL AND TEMPORARY** The ESY Summer Directors oversee the planning coordination and implementation of the districts Extended School Year programs. This role ensures that all ESY services are delivered in compliance with students IEPs state regulations and district expectations. The Director provides leadership to ESY staff manages daytoday program operations and ensures a safe supportive and instructionally effective environment for all students(1) Elementary Director of ESY Role $4000/stipend(1) Secondary Director of ESY Role $4000/stipend REPORTS TO: Position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. The ESY Director is expected to:Work all 20 days of the program as well as ESY organization days (10 days). Key Responsibilities:Program Leadership & Oversight- Develop and manage the overall structure schedule and daily operations of the ESY program.- Ensure all services align with students IEP goals service delivery grids and DESE requirements.- Coordinate with Special Education administrators to determine staffing needs student groupings and program locations.- Oversee student enrollment placement and transportation Supervision & Support- Recruit hire and onboard ESY teachers paraprofessionals related service providers and support staff.- Provide ongoing supervision coaching and problemsolving support throughout the program.- Facilitate staff meetings professional expectations and communication protocols.- Ensure staff compliance with district policies safety procedures and mandated reporting & Community Communication- Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding ESY programming schedules and student needs.- Communicate proactively and professionally with parents/guardians about student progress concerns or incidents.- Collaborate with transportation facilities nursing and food services to ensure smooth program Support & Safety- Monitor student attendance engagement and progress toward IEP goals.- Respond to behavioral medical or safety concerns promptly and appropriately.- Ensure implementation of behavior plans health plans and accommodations.- Maintain a positive inclusive and supportive environment for all & Documentation- Ensure accurate documentation of attendance service delivery and progress reporting.- Maintain records required for state reporting Medicaid billing and district audits.- Oversee incident reporting crisis documentation and communication logs.- Support staff in completing ESY progress reports and ensuring timely Evaluation & CloseOut- Conduct endofprogram evaluations including staff feedback student progress summaries and operational reflections.- Provide a written summary of program outcomes challenges and recommendations for future ESY cycles.- Ensure all materials equipment and student records are returned stored or transferred - REQUIRED:- Valid MA educator license; Special Education Administrator license preferred.- Experience in special education programming IEP implementation and staff supervision.- Strong organizational communication and problemsolving skills.- Ability to collaborate effectively with families staff and district leadership.- Knowledge of DESE regulations ESY requirements and inclusive instructional have current Safety Care authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
