Position Title:Dean Arts and Sciences
Position Description:
The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Cameron University is responsible for providing administrative and academic leadership in a student-centered environment.
Primary Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Arts and Sciences
Makes recommendations on budget and curriculum as well as appointment tenure and promotion of faculty following standard procedures
Provides guidance and support for the Colleges participation in campus-wide assessment activities
Takes an active role in the recruitment and retention of students faculty and staff
Works with departments and accrediting bodies to ensure continued adherence to accreditation standards
Provides leadership to the College in working with external constituencies

Supervision:The Dean will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Holds a terminal degree
Has a record of effective teaching service and scholarship consistent with a tenured professor appointment
Has demonstrated leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Has a record of administrative achievement at the departmental level or higher
Has experience in faculty personnel management budget management grant writing and fund raising
Has experience in working with external constituencies and advisory bodies
Has experience with any of the accrediting bodies associated with the College of Arts and Sciences and/or the Higher Learning Commission
Has demonstrated leadership in program development modification and assessment practices
Anticipated Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
