The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Finance team is looking for a Procurement Specialist - Manufacturing in our Procurement team. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The Procurement team develops and manages vendor contracts for Manufacturing Operations providing strategic guidance for procurement planning tendering cost management and contract administration while ensuring effective vendor relationships and contract performance.
What Will You Do
Youll actively participate in providing continuous improvement and outstanding services within the Procurement team. You will also:
- manage and maintain assigned contracts and supplier relationships - deliver on cost quality risk mitigation safety and environmental requirements of stakeholders
- identify and implement opportunities for value creation and cost reductions
- improve process - drive contract performance through enhancing efficiencies increasing productivity benchmarking and adopting best practices
- develop and strengthen business relationships both internally and externally
- influence and partner with key internal and external customers ensuring alignment of procurement initiatives
- execute a range of improvement initiatives - apply project methodologies and work closely with multiple project sponsors and cross-functional teams
Manage service-based contracts guiding decisions on partnerships performance and supplier risk. Use market intelligence data and analysis to optimise service delivery and support continuous improvement projects that benefit our communities.
