Reporting to the District Operations Manager (DOM) and as a member of the District Leadership Team the Volunteer Support Manager (VSM) will lead and manage the implementation of sustainable and effective volunteering initiatives in the Northland collaboration with the National Operations Manager - Ambulance Volunteering the National Operations Manager - MIST and the wider District Leadership Team the VSM will ensure the continued success and effectiveness of operational volunteering in the area.
As the Volunteer Support Manager (VSM) you will also be responsible for supporting the Major Incident Support Teams (MIST) and the management of the MIST Managers who will report directly to you.
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for leading volunteers and supporting managers of volunteers who understands the contribution that volunteering makes to Hato Hone St John. You will need the vision knowledge and practical experience to develop and implement a volunteer strategy with the ability to build credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our volunteers contribution is developed recognised and supported.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate must hold a Hato Hone St John First Responder qualification. (This may be achieved within six months of appointment)
In addition to your interest in leading volunteers it would be beneficial to have an understanding of onboarding systems and processes. You should also be skilled in problem-solving and be able to collaborate effectively with the national VSM team and the broader District Leadership Team. There will be key objectives aligned to the role including planning for National Volunteer week and supporting volunteering that aligns to the Mahi Aroha and Rautaki Waka Manaaki strategies and helping with direction for Northland.
