Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to join our Cloud Data Engineering Architecture this critical role you will apply your deep expertise in AWS cloud services to design innovative scalable solutions and uphold architectural governance for advanced cloud-hosted data platforms. What youll be doing:
- Ensuring solutions are fit for purpose meet business requirements adhere to quality standards and deliver value within cost constraints
- Providing input into project and resource plans supporting business case development and identifying issues and risks while leading their resolution
- Communicating solution designs key decisions and approaches clearly to stakeholders governance forums and project bodies including the Technical Design Authority (TDA)
- Overseeing solution development and engaging in implementation activities as required while applying knowledge of technology options and surveying the external market for insights and vendor solutions
- Conducting analysis of technology alternatives including benefits costs and risks; performing gap analyses and developing proof-of-concepts for new solutions
- Retaining accountability for architecture and design throughout the project lifecycle ensuring compliance with the original design and managing the production of Key Decision Documents with appropriate governance processes
- Assessing and selecting packaged solutions in collaboration with business teams IT procurement and Managed Service Providers and producing IT review documents to ensure due diligence
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in the strategic application of technology
Qualifications :
Who were looking for:
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience; AWS certification is desirable
- Proven ability to design and build complex cloud-hosted data platforms on AWS
- Strong knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps best practices including Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD
- Experience integrating cloud systems and third-party services (IaaS SaaS/DBaaS such as Snowflake MongoDB Atlas)
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (networking OS concepts security protocols) and secure system design
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python Java C) and modern development methodologies (TDD Agile)
- Hands-on experience with data engineering: ETL/ELT pipelines data formats (JSON Avro) and high-volume analytics systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements document solution designs and articulate technical decisions clearly
