We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance manage impacts and reduce risks including obtaining permits and approvals decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites and tackling climate change challenges and resilience. We focus on preserving habitats water quality stakeholder engagement and cultural resources promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.

Our highly regarded Environmental team in Darwin is seeking Professional to Principal Environmental Scientists and Engineers to support a wide range of exciting and meaningful projects across the Defence government mining and energy sectors.

At AECOMs Darwin office youll gain hands-on experience in:

• Environmental impact assessment and approvals
• Contaminated land investigations and remediation
• Hydrology hydrogeology and water quality monitoring
• Biodiversity surveys and ecological assessments
• Environmental management planning and auditing

What will a day in this role look like:

• Conducting fieldwork in diverse and remote environments across the NT and beyond
• Supporting or leading the preparation of environmental assessments management plans and technical reports
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality client-focused outcomes
• Engaging with clients regulators and stakeholders to support project delivery and business development efforts
• Contributing to a positive team culture and collaborative knowledge-sharing environment
• Environment project management

Qualifications :

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired but if you dont tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply all applications will be considered.

What are we looking for from you 

• A degree in Environmental Science Engineering or a related field and a valid Australian drivers licence and Australian Citizenship (due to project requirements requiring defence clearance)
• A strong interest or experience in environmental approvals contaminated land or ecological fieldwork
• Able to work independently manage competing priorities and get involved across a wide range of projects while contributing to a supportive team-focused environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to translate technical concepts clearly
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently when needed
• A proactive attitude curiosity to learn and a commitment to delivering quality work
• Experience managing environmental projects end-to-end including scope timelines budgets and coordination with clients and internal teams (desirable)
