Job Summary

The Strategic Marketing Director will lead engagements with client organizations focused on generating positive Marketing ROI improving customer and marketing facing stimuli and leveraging data and analytic assets. This role serves two primary constituencies: 1) client organizations with unmet strategy development needs and 2) RRD sales and client management groups whose long-term positioning depends on deepening the strategic nature of client relationships. This role will have a broad scope of responsibility including formulating and presenting strategic advice to clients coordinating internal resources required to deliver consulting work product leading internal teams in account planning exercises and developing repeatable consulting solutions that can be delivered by RRD teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Data & Analytics Services
    • Marketing Performance Insights & Strategy Serve as a strategic partner leveraging data-driven insights to develop marketing strategies that drive client growth and efficiency.
    • Comprehensive Performance Measurement & Reporting Provide ongoing analysis and custom reporting using KPIs to measure campaign success and identify areas for optimization.
    • Audience & Market Intelligence Conduct in-depth market research customer segmentation and competitive analysis to inform client positioning and targeting strategies.
    • Data Integration & Management Oversee data strategy and infrastructure ensuring seamless integration of first-party third-party and campaign data for cross-channel analysis.
  • Marketing Optimization & Execution Services
    • Omnichannel Marketing Optimization Provide holistic cross-channel planning and execution across paid earned and owned media ensuring clients achieve maximum ROI.
    • Personalization & Audience Targeting Develop advanced segmentation and personalization strategies using data-driven insights to improve engagement and conversions.
    • MarTech & Automation Strategy Guide clients in MarTech stack implementation CRM integrations and automation strategies to enhance efficiency and customer experiences.
    • Attribution & ROI Analysis Deliver marketing attribution modeling to provide clients with clear insights on budget allocation performance impact and long-term strategy.
  • Strategic Advisory & Client Partnership
    • Executive-Level Consultation Act as a trusted advisor to client CMOs and senior leaders guiding high-level marketing strategy and investment decisions.
    • Proactive Client Communication & Strategy Reviews Conduct regular strategic reviews and performance deep-dives to ensure alignment with business goals and evolving market dynamics.
    • Innovation & Growth Planning Introduce new strategies emerging technologies and market opportunities ensuring clients stay ahead of industry trends.

 


Qualifications :

Education

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree-Bachelors degree in related discipline required
  • Preferred-Graduate Degree (Higher education in data sciences economics analytic MBA or similar graduate degree preferred)

 

Minimum Years of Experience

10 years of marketing strategy experience and large client relationship management

 

Skills and Certifications

  • Demonstrated record of leading important marketing engagements and consulting initiatives for client organizations -- and building C Suite relationships. Ideally this experience comes from both client side tenures and senior agency/consultancy experience.
  • Deep expertise with all aspects of Marketing including strategic planning data analytics data management marketing technology designed testing media optimization etc.
  • Experience with cultivating and maintaining client executive relationships
  • Familiarity with analytic methodologies and Data Science practices and their role in shaping marketing strategy
  • Familiarity with Market Research techniques and strategies
  • Very strong written communication skills. Experience with direct client contact and effective presentations
  • Ability to interpret analytic findings and present them to non-technical audiences for the purpose of driving marketing and customer treatment strategies.
  • Expert level understanding of 1st 2nd and 3rd party data assets and their respective role in driving marketing performance
  • Strong understanding of marketing database strategies and applications -- coupled with an ability to draw actionable insights from marketing data for client benefit

 

 


Additional Information :

RRDs current salary range for this role is $141000to $225600 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee and the range may change in the future. At RRD it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon but not limited to education skills experience proficiency performance shift and location. Depending on the role in addition to base salary the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus commission or incentive program.
