JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises and plans all details to ensure successful events and functions

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES:

Banquet Server/ Chain Gang

Banquet Server/On-Call

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assists in managing and directing the banquet and convention services staff in accordance with standards policies and procedures
Coordinates and directs the daily activities of all direct reports for the Banquet Operations Team including planning organizing execution and evaluation of all banquet functions
Schedules adequate staffing for each function
Works with third party companies such as exposition and décor companies on clients behalf
Partner with support teams to ensure room sets are correct and events are executed as expected by clients
Anticipate and handle customer complaints or problems to ensure quality product delivery customer satisfaction and repeat business
Understands the Collective Bargaining Agreement and works with union and Human Resources following proper process with complaints and grievances
Responsible for hiring orientation training and job performance for all direct reports
Makes recommendations on making the business more competitive by upgrading services and/or equipment and non-traditional use of space
Inspects to maintain proper standards of storing handling and maintenance of equipment
Ensures all function areas are kept clean and in proper condition to provide a safe working environment for employees

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

College degree preferred. 2-4 years related experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Good communication supervisory and organizational skills
Proven ability to direct and motivate employees

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Diverse fast-paced deadline driven multi-project coordination prioritizing and flexing to accommodate last minute requests and changes.
