The System Administrator will provide hands-on administration and operational support for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)managed environments in a DoD setting. This role is endpoint-first with supporting responsibilities across Windows Server systems. The ideal candidate has direct experience owning MECM deployments patching imaging and lifecycle management and operates comfortably in an enterprise security-conscious environment using ServiceNow.
This position is not cybersecurity- or RMF-focused; it is an operations-driven system administration role supporting daily endpoint and server reliability.
Core Responsibilities (Primary)
- Own day-to-day MECM operations including:
- PXE boot imaging
- Application/package deployment
- Software updates and patching
- Collections task sequences and reporting
- Execute IAVA-compliant patching and endpoint lifecycle management.
- Perform workstation and endpoint configuration refreshes and remediation.
- Support endpoint compliance and operational readiness in classified and unclassified environments.
- Track and resolve incidents changes and requests using ServiceNow.
Supporting Responsibilities (Secondary)
- Administer Windows Server 2012 systems (AD GPOs patching upgrades).
- Monitor system health and performance; resolve operational issues.
- Assist with documentation and change control artifacts as needed.
- Coordinate hardware refreshes and system upgrades.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on MECM experience (must have direct operational ownership).
- 2 years of system administration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with patching imaging and endpoint lifecycle management.
- ServiceNow experience.
- DoD 8140 / 8570 compliant (Security CE).
- Active Confidential or higher clearance.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Intune or hybrid endpoint management.
- Windows Server administration beyond core operations.
- Familiarity with DoD clinical or mission systems.
