An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Services Team for a Business Services Development Manager.

This role manages the delivery of service planning performance risk management and compliance frameworks across the department. Youll ensure robust performance management provide assurance and drive service improvement and efficiency supporting informed decision-making and achievement of departmental and corporate objectives.

About the Role

The main duties include:-

  • Delivery of the departments service planning performance and risk management frameworks.
  • Leading on the day to day development and management of the departments performance management / business planning system.
  • Working with the departmental Business Planning Manager to ensure the continuous improvement in availability quality and reliability of data ensuring that the department has regular monitoring review and escalation processes in place to inform decisions and drive service improvement.
  • Promoting a compliant performance driven evidenced based culturethat drives efficient customer focused service improvement planning anddevelopment.
  • Leading on the development and implementation of the departmental approach to data protection and information governance compliance.

About You

To apply for this post you must have:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (or demonstrable experience in a relevant area) with an in depth knowledge of performance management risk management and continuous improvement and an understanding of the principles of good project management.
  • Experience of the design implementation and maintenance of performance frameworks across an organisation as well as experience of supporting change in a local government setting (or other complex organisation).
  • Excellent IT skills as well as experience in analysing and interpreting complex data and presenting findings to a range of stakeholders..
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to shape and influence to achieve successful outcomes and to continue to build on the credibility of the Council and its services.
  • Ability to build powerful relationships across stakeholders peers and partners creating open and transparent relationships based on trust.
  • Experience in supervising members of a team both in technical aspects and their performance training and mentoring as required
  • Ability to organise prioritise and manage a heavy workload whilst delivering quality results to tight deadlines.

You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.
