Job Summary

Extended School Year Nurse

  • One (1) nurse

Description-Program provides support for nursing specific duties. Minimum 3 years of nursing practice. Experience with pediatrics school nursing emergency care and/or developmental disabilities preferred. Current license and registration as a Registered Professional Nurse granted by the PA Department of Education: Bachelors degree preferred. The program runs June 30-July 31 every Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30AM-12:00PM for students and 8:15AM-12:15PM for staff. Compensation will be TBD per the PGEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Duties Include:

  • Provide skilled nursing services to students with special health and developmental needs including medication administration
  • Respond to health related emergencies including first aid and CPR
  • Manages chronic health conditions such as asthma diabetes and seizure disorders
  • Collaborate and communicate with families and staff on the ongoing medical needs of students.
  • Collect and maintain all necessary health information on students and ensure accurate contact information for all students.
  • Share all necessary student health/medical information with both building and bus staff to ensure appropriate care.
