Job Summary

Extended School Year Nurse

One (1) nurse

Description-Program provides support for nursing specific duties. Minimum 3 years of nursing practice. Experience with pediatrics school nursing emergency care and/or developmental disabilities preferred. Current license and registration as a Registered Professional Nurse granted by the PA Department of Education: Bachelors degree preferred. The program runs June 30-July 31 every Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30AM-12:00PM for students and 8:15AM-12:15PM for staff. Compensation will be TBD per the PGEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Duties Include:

Provide skilled nursing services to students with special health and developmental needs including medication administration
Respond to health related emergencies including first aid and CPR
Manages chronic health conditions such as asthma diabetes and seizure disorders
Collaborate and communicate with families and staff on the ongoing medical needs of students.
Collect and maintain all necessary health information on students and ensure accurate contact information for all students.
Share all necessary student health/medical information with both building and bus staff to ensure appropriate care.
