Position Overview
Prime Tide Bar & Grill is seeking a qualified and experienced chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The role involves planning preparing and cooking high-quality meals in a busy commercial hospitality environment while ensuring consistency food safety compliance and excellent presentation standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan menus and prepare season and cook food items in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes including grill items seafood mains and specials
- Ensure food quality portion control taste and presentation meet venue standards
- Supervise kitchen operations during service ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery
- Monitor stock levels assist with ordering supplies and minimise food wastage
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety hygiene and workplace health & safety regulations (HACCP)
- Train and support junior kitchen staff as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas and equipment
- Work efficiently under pressure including evenings weekends and public holidays
Requirements
- AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
OR minimum 35 years relevant commercial cooking experience - At least 2 years post-qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience working as a Chef in a restaurant hotel or high-volume hospitality venue
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques cooking methods and kitchen operations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management organisational and communication skills
