Job Summary

Chileda is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to join our growing team. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for providing and overseeing comprehensive clinical services for residential and educational students including overseeing strategic initiatives. This includes coordinating case management counseling and health services. This position ensures the clients rights are upheld and that compliance with licensing and accreditation standards is maintained. This position oversees the Aftercare program and ensures student and family involvement in treatment planning.

Qualifications

  • Requires a masters degree in Social Work from a school of social work or a behavioral science field with 2 years of supervised work experience in a family or child welfare agency.
  • LCSW LPC School Psychologist or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with related experience preferred.
  • Leadership analytical problem-solving organizational and communication skills are required.

Hours: Generally 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday Friday. Additional or flexible hours or days of work may be required. This is an exempt benefited position averaging at least 40 hours per week. This role must have availability and willingness to accept phone calls outside of work hours.

Reports to: Vice President of Residential Services

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with DCF 52 DCF 61 and Accreditation standards within the clinical departments.
  • Oversee clinical services including counseling treatment planning Health & Wellness and Family Services ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Lead Strategic initiatives related to clinical services including trauma-informed care.
  • Provide direct clinical services including intake evaluation and therapy as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Behavior Services to ensure that the most effective treatment approaches are utilized developing new models of treatment
  • Monitor regulatory and clinical standards; productivity and quality assurance efforts meet contractual reporting requirements and performance standards.
  • Available for crisis consultation as needed capable of appropriate independent judgment to determine athe ppropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies
  • Facilitate critical incident reviews and staff debriefings
  • Serve as a member of the Administrative Team and work collaboratively to improve/maintain a positive work climate that is trauma-informed
  • Provide overall programmatic and clinical oversight to assure consistency and continuity in the provision of services
  • Supervises trains coaches and mentors program managers and case managers to achieve established goals
  • Provide clinical oversight to treatment planning.
    • Ensure that treatment plans comply with all applicable licensing and agency-specific requirements.
    • Oversee and conduct treatment planning assessments as needed. Ensure that assessments meet state county and agency requirements.
    • Review annual treatment plan goals to ensure they are functional attainable and promote independence.
    • Ensure that treatment plan meetings are collaborative and held with a high level of professionalism.
    • Attend Treatment Plan meetings for youth in residential care. Guide discussions on permanency and discharge planning and promote the scope of support Chileda can provide through Aftercare Services. Ensuring permanency goals are discussed during each Treatment Plan Meeting.
  • Monitor student outcomes and permanency and work collaboratively with other directors to address areas of need.
  • Oversee Psychiatric visits working collaboratively with the H&W Manager Director of Behavior Services and treatment team members.
  • Promote family and client involvement from pre-admission to post-discharge including the enrollment process treatment planning and aftercare.
  • Serve as point for Transition Support Services coordinating aftercare and transitional services prior to and post-discharge.
    • Work collaboratively with the case management staff and treatment teams to identify appropriate placements post-discharge. Be able to share names of other facilities and less restrictive environments that serve similar clients.
    • Work collaboratively with the Chileda Shine program to coordinate support for Aftercare.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure students are working on goals to move to less restrictive environments ensuring that permanency goals are discussed at the onset of services and at least quarterly thereafter.
  • Review contracts for services ensure that contract requirements are being upheld and funding sources are maintained throughout services. Complete necessary outcome reports as requested through contracts.
  • Lead the External Human Rights Committee working collaboratively with the Director of Behavior Services and community committee members to ensure best practices.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for families and social workers.
  • Ensure a thorough enrollment process including a thorough review process ensuring proper paperwork is obtained and funding is secured prior to and throughout enrollment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Administrative Assistant to ensure quarterly file reviews ensuring all record requirements are met.
  • Collect and Monitor clinical data including enrollment discharge permanency and treatment plan data. Report on data at least quarterly in administrative team meetings and lead initiatives for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements for out-of- state discharged students (ICPC).
  • Serve as Lead Clients Rights Specialist be available for calls related to clients rights or grievances outside of typical work hours.
    • Complete internal investigations as necessary.
  • Be an overall advocate for students ensuring that students emotional and social needs are met while ensuring students have needed tools and resources to be successful beyond Chileda.
  • Ensure yearly satisfaction surveys are sent to students parents/guardians and social service agencies. Aggregate the results and prepare for agency reviews.
  • Through written communications phone contacts and community opportunities introduce and actively promote the scope of Chiledas programs to potential referral sources such as social service agencies parent groups advocacy groups and school district personnel.
  • Other duties as directed.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the Job Duties of this position. The person in this position needs to occasionally walk about inside the office to access file cabinets office machinery and conference rooms. There is constant use of hand/fingers to operate a computer and frequent use to operate phones and other office equipment. Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with and exchange information with co-workers. This position may require physical interactions with students in fulfilling behavior interventions implementing current crisis management programs.

Work Environment: Work will be conducted primarily in an office setting. Work with students and families will be done throughout the Chileda campus.
