DescriptionCenturion is proud to be the provider ofcomprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections.We are currently seeking a Full-time Day Shift Dental Assistantto join our teamat Western Illinois Correctional Centerin Mount Sterling Illinois.
The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
Essential Duties:
Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
Operating radiographic equipment
Administrative tasks as needed
Pay rate: $24/hr
Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate one must be obtained in the first year of employment
Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Ability to obtain a security clearance to include drug screen and criminal background check
