The Sampson County Department of Social Services is seeking a Foster Care Social Work Supervisor III to lead a dedicated team of five professionals who work tirelessly to improve the lives of children in care. Sampling of Position Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of five Foster Care Social Workers providing guidance mentorship and leadership.
- Oversee case management ensuring timely effective and child-centered services.
- Collaborate with community partners court officials and families to promote permanency and stability for children in care.
- Manage workloads conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and professional development for staff.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal policies while maintaining a commitment to best practices in child welfare.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources. Considerable knowledge of the laws regulations and policies which govern social work programs. Considerable knowledge of and experience in working with the judicial system. Ability to supervise train or orient lower-level social workers students interns or other staff. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Masters degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelors degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a masters degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelors degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO THOSE WITH BI-LINGUAL SKILLS AND/OR DSS EXPERIENCE.
