TEACHING

REPORTS TO:

Principal and/or other Supervisor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom he or she isresponsible.
2. Observe and evaluate students performance behavior social development and physical health.
3. Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
4. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests.
5. Establish clear objectives for all lessons units and projects and communicate those objectives to students.
6. Prepare administer and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students progress.
7. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their childrens progress.
8. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws district policies and administrative regulations.
9. Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students needs and progress.
10. Use computers audiovisual aids and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
11. Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development evaluation and revision of school programs.
12. Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
13. Attend professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
14. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

COACHING

REPORTS TO:

Athletic Director

ESSENTIAL OR REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrate proper sportsmanship and respect for players officials opponents fans and other coaches.
2. Maintain good public relations with media boosters parents officials players fans etc.
3. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students parents staff and school administration.
4. Serve as a positive role model for students coaching staff and the community.
5. Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to implement effective coaching theory strategies and techniques appropriate for high school athletes.
6. Motivate student athletes to participate and sustain their interests in the program.
7. Work effectively with student athletes of varying abilities socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to instill commitment discipline and teamwork.
8. Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to and keep abreast of rules and regulations set forth by Arkansas Activities Association.
9. Supervise organize and motivate a coaching staff at all levels.
10. Assume responsibility for inventory selection and care of equipment.
11. Assume responsibility for proper care of the school facilities.
12. Responsible for the supervision of all students under their care.
13. Report injuries to administration in a timely manner.
14. Build and sustain a successful program that is widely supported and respected by the Searcy Public School District and community at large.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

1. Inform parents and student/athletes regarding NCAA clearing house registration deadlines and academic requirements etc.
2. Encourage athletes to take PSAT SAT and ACT in order to prepare for college.
3. Assist the Athletic Director in developing game schedules practice schedules facilities use transportation needs and the program budget.
4. Requisition supplies materials and equipment as needed.
5. Provide game results to media; keep season and game-by-game statistics and records; provide statistical reports to the Athletic Director as needed and/or requested.
6. Provide statistical information video etc. to college recruiters upon request.
7. Stay abreast of students academic eligibility and work with teachers and administration to help keep students eligible.
8. Assist the Athletic Director in selecting assistant coaches.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletic Director.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

1. To be an effective educator in the classroom and on the field.
2. To assist in maintaining high academic standards for all students.
3. To direct the basketballprogram in all phases at a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm.
4. To work cooperatively with other athletic coaches in order to operate a well-balanced athletic program.
5. To foster among the participants and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics a desire to win an attitude of good sportsmanship and a sense of pride in self team school and community.
6. To direct the training conditioning and performance of the varsity athletic team and to lead supervise and assist the assistant coaches in their efforts with teams assigned to them.
