Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional substance use disorder counseling services in accordance with HHSC standards and Santa Maria Hostel Policies and Procedures for SMH clients and adjunct services at Santa Maria locations and/or programs as assigned and other duties as requested by SMH management.
- Document on a timely basis all services to clients in CMBHS in accordance with HHSC standards.
- Submit weekly invoices in a timely manner with detailed accounting of your time and services provided.
- Attend staffing when requested by Program Director and provide reports as requested by Director in order to improve care coordination.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must have current Counselor license from Texas Department of State and Health Services. Drug and Alcohol Counselor Licensure (LCDC) plus two (2) years experience working in the social services field. With two years substance abuse treatment experience the following licensure may be substituted for an LCDC: Licensed Clinical Master Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMF).
Approval Requirements:
Position requires approval from Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (HCCSCD) if working with Women Helping Others (WHO) Women with Children (WWC) or Babies and Mothers Bonding Initiative (BAMBI) programs.
Contracted counselor will at all times be responsible for personally maintaining professional liability insurance coverage and current licensing and/or liability insurance coverage for vehicle if transporting clients in personal vehicle. Santa Maria is a no smoking workplace.
