Dedham Public Schools seeks an experienced student-centered Elementary School Principal to serve as the instructional operational and cultural leader of Oakdale Elementary School. The Principal is responsible for ensuring a safe inclusive and academically rigorous learning environment that promotes student achievement and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instructional leadership aligned with district curriculum state standards and best practices
- Supervise evaluate coach and support teachers and staff using established educator evaluation systems
- Use multiple sources of student data to guide instructional decisions school improvement planning and targeted interventions
- Lead and support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) addressing academic social-emotional and behavioral needs
- Foster a positive inclusive school culture that promotes belonging equity and high expectations
- Recruit hire develop and retain high-quality staff; address personnel matters in accordance with district policies and collective bargaining agreements
- Partner collaboratively with families PTOs and community stakeholders through clear and consistent communication
- Oversee daily school operations including scheduling supervision safety procedures crisis response and compliance with district state and federal requirements
- Manage the school budget and resources responsibly and equitably
- Ensure equitable access to learning and support services for all students including students with disabilities English learners and students from diverse backgrounds
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience
- Massachusetts Elementary School Principal license required
- Masters Degree required
- Demonstrated effective school leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of curriculum instruction assessment MTSS and professional learning
