Overview:

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring Emergency Department Technicians

*****Full Time Evening and Night schedules available*****

The ED Technician assists the Physician Advanced Practitioner or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician Advanced Practitioner or Nurse.

New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum education:

1. EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
2. Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School qualified MMAC candidates OR
3. Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g. RN LPN Respiratory Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.

Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

Education

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Certification/Licensure

  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • Clinical experience (Required)
  • De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$16.92 - $25.38. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/on-call overtime premiums extra shift incentives or bonus opportunities.
