Job Summary
The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for evaluating residential mortgage loan applications to ensure they meet company guidelines investor requirements and regulatory standards. This role involves analyzing borrower creditworthiness income assets and property documentation to determine loan approval denial or conditional approval.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree in finance business or related field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years experience in mortgage underwriting.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of conventional FHA VA and USDA loan programs
- Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS) and underwriting tools
- Solid understanding of credit analysis income calculation and risk assessment
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have FHA DE
