The ADC is a well-established agency in Prince William County VA. We provide safety and security for our staff and the individuals in our care while protecting the residents of Prince William County. This position may involve direct contact with inmates housed at the facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Process information such as warrants and detainers from local state and federal agencies.
- Input and accurately maintain confidential information in computer systems.
- Maintain physical copies of case record files and legal paperwork related to inmates.
- Prepare general correspondence to include lists reports spreadsheets and dockets.
- Monitor Circuit Court General District Court Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court lists daily for incarcerated inmates and compare with agency court lists.
- Read review and interpret court documents including commit & release documents dispositions & continuance notices and other paperwork affecting length of incarceration.
- Accurately compute and record sentence length jail credit and release dates.
- Perform file audits to ensure accuracy of data entry and coding.
- Respond to inquiries from the public staff and inmates via email written correspondence or verbally.
- Routinely communicate with professionals in the criminal justice field including attorneys bail bonding agents federal state and local law enforcement etc.

- Communication Skills the ability to speak well and convey information clearly.
- Multitasking Skills - the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
- Administrative Skills - the ability to write document keep records and answer phones.

- Interpersonal Skills the ability to handle conflict be attentive and emphatic while maintaining a positive attitude.
- General knowledge of Virginia criminal law and court procedures; some working knowledge of the courts systems and other jail systems
- Any knowledge of related public safety computer systems such as VCIN NCIC or OMS.
- Ability to function independently with little supervision.

MINIMUM EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 1 year of related experience.
ENTRY SALARY RANGE:
Typical hiring range: $21.14 - $29.75 per hour.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm 37.5 hours per week.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass a pre-employment physical. Must possess a valid drivers license. Must be able to pass polygraph and background check.
Must be able to obtain Virginia Criminal Information Network Certification Notary Public Certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require reaching standing walking grasping feeling talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
