AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Provide program assistance and support for departmental initiatives programs processes projects and events.
    • Respond to inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services to meet departmental service standards.
    • Independently fulfills administrative and program duties related to the work area including correspondence documentation minute-taking preparing memos and reports and presentations.
    • Supports project leads in planning coordinating implementing and evaluating departmental policies programs and special events.
    • Participates in working groups and brainstorming sessions to provide input ideas insights
    • Assist with data entry and management.
    • Perform qualitative/quantitative research and analysis in a technical and/or specialized discipline to identify trends industry best practices and opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to complete projects where applicable.
    • Prepares project and program updates for review by management.
    • Maintain confidentiality based on the requirement to access and maintain sensitive sectional or departmental and organizational communication reports materials and records.
    • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
    • Understand adhere to and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures Confidentiality Guidelines Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

    • Students must be enrolled in a university or college. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to the job offer.

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:

    • Interest working in a City government
    • Understands local municipal issues impacting the residents of Brampton
    • Student must be currently enrolled in a university or college Public Administration Social Work Business Administration Public Policy or similar or equivalent program.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of discipline-specific principles.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Possess strong computer skills e.g. MS Office programs including MS Word and Excel.
    • Ability to prioritize and excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Practical knowledge of applicable software(s) within discipline.
