Working under the general direction of a collaborating physician the advanced practice clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) provides direct care to patients in a high volume clinical service. S/he develops implements and evaluates a program of specialized health care for a select patient population with cardiac arrhythmia. S/he will be intimately involved in direct care and education of patients and should have experience working with arrhythmias and cardiac devices such as implantable cardiac defibrillators implantable loop recorders and pacemakers. S/he promotes a collaborative relationship among various health care professionals toward continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. S/he serves as a role model for professional medical practice in the management of patients with cardiovascular disease.

Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations including those with medical and/or surgical conditions as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions developing appropriate plans of care and conducting ongoing evaluations. Provides direct care counseling and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory inpatient operative and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders interprets and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic laboratory and physical examination findings.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes procedure notes operative notes and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
