Laindon Medical Group is looking to welcome an experienced lead practice nurse to join their well-established team. This position is offered on a full-time basis for 5 days per weekwith some flexibility on start/end time. (eg 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm)
The lead practice nurse will act as the clinicaloperational lead for the nursing team providing a single point of coordination for day-to-day service delivery operational issues and clinical quality. We can offer protected administration time with this role.
The lead nurse will work closely with the clinical lead practice manager partners and wider MDT. Strategic planning and complex troubleshooting remain with senior clinical leadership while the wider nursing team are the primary delivery arm for services.
Responsibilities will include;
- Act as the first point of contact for nursing team operational queries feedback and escalation of risks
- Support implementation teaching and monitoring of evidence-based clinical practice
- Mentor nursing staff and assess competencies to ensure safe care delivery
- Promote shared learning and support delivery of key outcomes (QOF including attending monthly meetings to execute agreed plans and support achievement of targets; CQC compliance; IPC standards)
- Lead clinical audits relevant to nursing services and implement improvements
- Oversee daily coordination of the nursing workforce to ensure adequate cover for patient demand
- Provide oversight of delegated tasks and maintain visibility of progress and resourcing
- Communicate clearly between teams partners and management to support smooth running of services
- Lead and contribute to nursing team meetings and MDT working
- Support the induction of new staff maintaining training records and mandatory skills compliance

- Registered Nurse NMC registration with an active PIN
- Demonstrable primary care experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience delivering long-term condition care and immunisation services
- Confident in supporting others learning and change implementation
