The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is recruiting an experienced Program Specialist 5. This position sits at the center of several major initiatives underway within DOSH. Most prominently this role leads the Adult Entertainment Initiative (AEI) a legislatively mandated program created underESSB 6105 to strengthen safety and health protections for adult entertainment workers across Washington State. At the same time the position provides direct supervision and operational oversight for multiple established certification programs including crane certification asbestos fire-resistant materials applicator (FRMA) high hazard facilities (HHF) and charter boats.
The individual selected for this role will step into an environment that is dynamic and evolving. Regulatory requirements are changing new systems are coming online and expectations from stakeholders internal and external are high. This work requires adaptability sound judgment and the ability to move seamlessly from strategy to execution.

The individual in this role will help shape how DOSH delivers prevention-focused equitable and effective safety programs statewide.

For this position you will work in office 1-2 days per week and teleworking the remainder of the time. The assigned duty station is Tumwater WA.

*Relevant experience could include work that combinesprogram leadership regulatory or policy-driven work stakeholder engagement and people management particularly in environments that are complex sensitive or rapidly evolving; leading or coordinatingstatewide or multi-program initiatives especially those created in response to new legislation rulemaking or executive direction; overseeing application processes renewals audits system transitions or modernization efforts as well as coordinating with inspection compliance or enforcement staff to ensure consistent implementation; responding to legislative inquiries preparing briefings supporting rule development or representing a program in public interagency or executive-level settings.
