Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Orthopedic X-Ray Technologist to support outpatient orthopedic imaging services. The technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations while ensuring patient safety comfort and compliance with established imaging protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Perform orthopedic diagnostic radiographic examinations as ordered by providers
Prepare and position patients correctly to obtain accurate and high-quality images
Explain imaging procedures to patients and address questions or concerns
Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging techniques
Practice radiation safety and protection to minimize patient and staff exposure
Operate imaging equipment efficiently and report equipment issues promptly
Ensure accurate documentation within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
Maintain imaging rooms equipment and supplies according to department standards
Adhere to departmental policies procedures and quality assurance guidelines
Provide professional patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment
Schedule & Work Details
Schedule: MondayFriday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
Weekend Coverage: Not required
Floating: Yes may float to additional outpatient locations as needed
Required Qualifications
A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
Active New York State Radiologic Technologist license/registration
Previous experience as an X-Ray Technologist preferred (orthopedic experience strongly preferred)
Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and orthopedic imaging techniques
Ability to successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
