Job Title: ESC 11 Mentorship Fellow

Reports To: Coordinator of Instructional Services
Primary Purpose
The Texas Mentorship Training (TMT) program exists to deliver cost-effective high-quality training and job-embedded support to district and EPP staff supporting pre-service and beginning teachers through mentorship. The programs primary goals are to increase beginning teacher effectiveness and retention.
The ESC Mentorship Fellows will be trained on and eventually lead implementation of TEAs Texas Mentorship Training for their Educational Service Centers (ESC). This role includes attending all TMT training providing feedback on the design and delivery of the TMT content redelivering the training while receiving coaching support from contractor and marketing the TMT to districts and Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs).

Education/Certification
- Bachelors Degree (required)
- Masters Degree (required)
- Texas Teacher Educators certification (required)
- Principal certification (Preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills
ESC Fellows must demonstrate
- strong instructional leadership skills at the district or campus-level including strategic decision-making; and excellent skills in:
- change management
- project management
- organization
- communication
- presentation & facilitation
- relationship-building and
- coaching skills.
- a willingness and interest in engaging with and providing feedback on Texas Mentorship Training design and delivery;
- the ability to navigate new work and make clarity where ambiguity exists;
- an understanding of best practices in adult learning;
- an openness to adapting services & working to local contexts; and
- a growth mindset & orientation towards continuous improvement.
Experience
- 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience (required)
Preferred Experience
- Successful campus principal or central office experience.
- ESC Fellows should have a background or experience with
- mentorship roles or leading mentorship programs on a campus or district;
- working with pre and early-service teachers;
- Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL);
- High Quality Instructional Materials & Research-Based Instructional Strategies (HQIM);
- Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS);
- Product Academies or Strong Foundations Implementation or Planning; and
- Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs).

- Participate in TEA orientation and all TMT trainings and any other trainings required by TEA (travel to trainings may be required).
- Create an ESC TMT business model for the TMT to operationalize LEA support and maintain sustainability.
- Build relationships with LEAs & EPPs to invest them in the TMT vision recruit them to the right TMT pathways and assist them through coaching and implementation support.
- Redeliver TMT through a Trainer Trainers (ToT) model and receive coaching from contractor and TEA on redelivery

Equipment/Specialized Software Used
Computers projection devices control panels in meeting rooms printers productivity software software specific to the job assignment network resources internet resources and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer. Frequent region and state-wide travel.
Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations.
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding. This grant is currently funded through August 31 2026
