Role Purpose

This role performs as a functional trainer and is responsible for administering field station training programs for Ground Handling operations through classroom hands on and verbal instruction. This individual will also assist and provide support to management on matters of safety security and education through training and training programs. As well as proactively promote a safety first culture by introducing safe working procedures in accordance with Menzies Aviations policies and procedures.

What you will be doing

  • Effectively deliver new hire and annual recurrent training for all station personnel
  • Effectively deliver ramp OJT and Driver Training Secondary OJT and other training based on training qualifications.
  • Project a professional image/conduct at all times
  • Ensure that the delivery of training courses is aligned to support and ensure safe and secure operations in accordance with the highest possible standards of health safety security and all government statutory requirements.
  • Support employees and supervisors in undertaking the protective and preventative measures necessary to achieve compliance with health and safety legislation as it applies to them.
  • Support corporate compliance by ensuring that training is aligned to promote and support applicable Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations
  • Report any breaches of statutory requirements or company best practice to management.
  • Participate in safety audits daily and provide corrective action assistance to management.
  • Complete daily shift reports and other reports as requested.
  • Attend and participate in monthly departmental meetings.
  • Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Manages all station Training compliance to include but not limited to company regulatory state and airline required training compliance.
  • Manages station OJT Program for each business line.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information training and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. As such the Company prohibits such misuse and carries out regular testing to enforce our Substance Misuse Policy.

What we are looking for:

    • Must be 18 years of age.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid US drivers license.
    • Must pass all pre-employment testing including a physical color vision test and drug testpass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
    • Ability to proficiently read write and speak English excellent communication skills
    • Must have a positive can-do upbeat personality and enjoy dealing with people daily.
    • Able to remain calm under pressure.
    • Must excel in time management skills and require minimal supervision.
    • Always uphold the image and standards of the company
    • Able to stand for long periods of time at the ticket counter and gate check-in areas.
    • Comfortable lifting 70lbs.
    • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays and work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations.
    • Advanced Computer Skills proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word programs
    • Must have a high school diploma GED or three years of experience in ramp/cargo operations
    • Prior Airline or Compliance experience required.
