Pediatric Psychologist Job Posting

Specializing in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology

Position Summary

Nemours Childrens is seeking up to two full-time Pediatric Psychologists with expertise in pediatric hematology and oncology. These positions are vital in supporting the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology providing comprehensive psychological services to children and adolescents with blood disorders and cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outpatient psychological care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients and their families at Nemours Childrens Health in Jacksonville FL.

  • Provide inpatient consultative psychological services at Wolfson Childrens Hospital collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Conduct psychological assessments develop treatment plans and offer evidence-based interventions for children coping with chronic illness and emotional challenges related to their diagnosis.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds team meetings and collaborative patient care planning.

  • Support family adjustment and provide psychoeducation to patients families and medical staff.

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and program development within the division.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Counseling or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.

  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship with specialized experience in pediatric psychology.

  • Postdoctoral fellowship or equivalent experience in pediatric hematology/oncology preferred.

  • Current or eligible for Florida licensure as a psychologist.

  • Demonstrated experience providing psychological services to children with chronic or life-threatening medical conditions.

  • Demonstrates strong abilities in assessment intervention consultation and working collaboratively across disciplines. Opportunities for research are both available and encouraged as is an interest in supervising pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students fellows and medical residents.
