Job Summary
Assistant Buyer Balmoral Tanks (Thurnscoe Rotherham)
Location: Thurnscoe Rotherham (with occasional travel to UK supplier sites and rare overseas visits)
Department: Procurement
Reports to: Procurement Manager

Balmoral Tanks is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to join our growing Procurement Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building supplier relationships supporting the purchasing cycle and contributing to a fastpaced manufacturing environment.

What Youll Be Doing
As our Assistant Buyer you will play a key part in ensuring we source highquality materials and services efficiently and on time. Your responsibilities will include:
Procurement & Supplier Support
- Assisting with placing purchase orders and tracking deliveries
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm order details resolve issues and follow up outstanding queries
- Supporting the team in sourcing new suppliers and obtaining quotes
- Helping to introduce and manage contracts with key suppliers
Internal Collaboration
- Working closely with colleagues in Logistics Finance Operations Manufacturing QA and more
- Maintaining accurate records of pricing contracts and supplier data
- Ensuring smooth flow of information across departments
Operational Excellence
- Contributing to cost-saving and efficiency initiatives
- Operating in line with company safety standards and procedures
- Maintaining personal development records and embracing our Right First Time culture
Financial & Business Impact
- Work within set budgets and highlight any variations
- Identify opportunities for cost or efficiency savings
- Help support informed purchasing decisions that impact company performance
Who Youll Work With
Youll collaborate with a wide range of departments including:
HSEQ Procurement Design Manufacturing Planning Goods Inwards Finance Sales Contracts QA as well as suppliers and subcontractors.
What Were Looking For
Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSEs (especially Maths and English)
- ALevels or equivalent vocational qualifications
Desirable:
- Studying toward or interested in CIPS qualification
Experience
- Previous administrative or procurement experience (desirable but not essential)
Skills
- Strong organisation and timemanagement skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal ability
- Confident using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- High attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
