Title : Data Engineer ETL (T8)
Location: NY / CT
Summary of the Role:
The Data Engineer on the Operations Team will play a critical role in supporting data integrations building and maintaining data pipelines ensuring data quality and facilitating the operation of a data warehouse within the asset management framework. This role requires a strong understanding of data architecture ETL processes and data governance along with the ability to work collaboratively across teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for data integration from various sources (market data feeds internal databases third party applications)
- Design and implement robust data integration processes using ETL (Extract Transform Load) tools
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to support business intelligence analytics and reporting needs
- Develop automated data workflows to streamline data ingestion
- Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of data
- Assist in the design and architecture of the data warehouse
- Work closely with data scientists analysts and business units to understand their data needs and provide support for their initiatives
Knowledge Skill and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Identify diagnose and resolve data discrepancies duplicates and other data-related issues
- Experience leading complex data modelling ETL design (AWS Glue Talend Azure Data Factory) and using large databases in a business environment
- Proficiency developing in SQL and Python with a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts including experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake Databricks & AWS
- Experience in the Asset & Wealth Management industry specifically with leading front-office technologies such as Blackrock Aladdin Charles River IMS or SimCorp
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Data Science or a related field and 8 years of experience in data engineering preferably in the financial services or asset management industry
