What we are looking for:
We are seeking two experienced Safety & Wellbeing professionals to join our team as Safety & Wellbeing Business Partners. Working collaboratively with teams across the organisation youll play a critical role in building a positive and mature safety culture where safety and wellbeing are recognised as shared responsibilities of employees visitors and contractors.
You will provide trusted sound advice and partner with business units to influence positive behavioural change embedding proactive risk management practices and moving beyond reactive compliance-based approaches.
These are fantastic opportunities to work in a community focused position working in the beautiful Fraser Coast.
What your day will look like:
- Business partnering with teams and managers to identify critical risks and improvement opportunities in safety management including aspects such as hazard and incident management and emerging focus areas such as psychosocial risk management.
- Providing sound safety advice and assistance to managers supervisors and safety representatives in the implementation of councils safety management systems including WHS management plan policies and procedures.
- Assisting the Principal Business Partner and Program Lead in reviewing and managing applicable plans policies and procedures
- Maintaining engagement opportunities with staff e.g. Attendance at safety committee meetings sometimes operational meetings pre-starts and toolbox talks trainings and dynamic risk assessments to provide contextualised support on risk control suitability.
- Conducting workplace investigations internal audits and supporting workplace inspections.
- Monitoring work health and safety data and ensuring all relevant registers and documents are maintained.
- Providing advice and support to the injury management team as required.

What youll need for success:
- Ability to drive a positive mature safety business partnering culture with a solution-oriented approach in interactions with the workforce
- Diploma (or higher) in WHS and significant experience in a similar position with strong knowledge of work health and safety legislation and standards
- Experience undertaking full safety investigations with a root- cause zero blame approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with people of varying levels and inspire collaboration across the organisation
- A high level of organisational time management and problem-solving skills
