Reporting to the Senior Director of Principal and Major Gifts the Associate Director is a member of the Schools frontline fundraising team and is responsible for the identification cultivation and solicitation of major gifts including scholarship and campaign gifts. The Associate Director supports the Senior Director and the Vice President of Development in managing the Global Council and Juilliard Council along with other special initiatives and participates indonor prospect strategy.

The salary range for this role is $115000-$125000 commensurate with skills qualifications and experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and solicit portfolio of individual donors and prospects with capacity to make annual gifts of $10000
  • Support the Vice President of Development and the Senior Director of Principal and Major Gifts in tracking renewals and prospects for the Board of Trustees Global Council Juilliard Council Presidents Circle and scholarship donors in Raisers Edge
  • Maintain solicitation calendar for major and scholarship donors and prospects and work withAssociate Director Development Operations in monthly query requests
  • Draft pledge agreements solicitations and acknowledgement letters
  • Support Development Committee and other volunteer solicitors in identifying cultivating and soliciting major gift and scholarship prospects
  • Help plan and execute cultivation and outreach strategies for Board Council Presidents Circle prospects
  • Prepare materials with the Senior Director of Principal and Major Gifts for Council meetings
  • Assist in planning and execution of major donor cultivation dinners/events
  • Proactively identify points of contact for donor cultivation in all areas of Development (e.g. review event guest lists for noteworthy attendees notify relevant contacts such as Trustees or Council members of attendance)

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.A. degree
  • At least 3-5 years experience in the Development Office of a performing arts or educational institution
  • Excellent writing analytical and communication skills
  • Highly motivated collaborative creative and deadline oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated record of working productively with high-level donors
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once
  • Proficiency in Raisers Edge
  • Interest in and knowledge of the performing arts
