ROLE PURPOSE:
The Child Rights Governance Technical Advisor (CRG TA) will provide technical leadership and guidance for the SIDA CSO Project which aims to strengthen local civil society organizations (CSOs) to integrate child rights as a core component of their work. The role will focus on capacity building partnership development and advocacy support to ensure CSOs can effectively demand and support the fulfillment of childrens rights hold duty bearers accountable and empower children and communities to claim their rights.
The CRG TA will:
- Serve as the technical lead for CRG within the SIDA CSO project.
- Support CSOs in adopting child rights programming approaches.
- Promote civil society voice and space child participation and inclusive governance.
- Ensure integration of gender disability and resilience considerations in all interventions.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Technical Leadership
- Develop and implement a Child Rights Governance strategy for the SIDA CSO project.
- Provide technical guidance to CSOs on child rights programming governance and accountability mechanisms.
- Support CSOs to integrate child rights into their organizational policies and advocacy agendas.
Capacity Building & Mentoring
- Design and deliver training coaching and mentoring for CSOs on CRG principles child participation and social accountability.
- Facilitate peer learning and networking among CSOs to share best practices and innovations.
Programme Quality
- Ensure CRG principles are embedded in project design implementation and monitoring of partner activities.
- Support CSOs in developing evidence-based advocacy strategies to influence policy and practice.
- Promote systems strengthening approaches for sustainability and scale.
Evidence & Learning
- Document and disseminate lessons learned success stories and evidence of impact.
- Contribute to research and learning agendas on child rights governance and civil society strengthening.
External Engagement
- Represent Save the Children and the SIDA CSO project in relevant forums and networks.
- Build strategic partnerships with local CSOs government agencies and donors to advance child rights.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
- Masters degree in political science social sciences law governance human rights or related field.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in child rights programming and governance.
- Deep understanding of UNCRC civil society strengthening and child participation.
Experience(Required)
- Minimum 7 years experience in child rights governance or civil society strengthening.
- Proven experience in capacity building and partnership development with CSOs.
- Strong understanding of rights-based approaches and advocacy.
- Familiarity with tools such as Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA) Political Economy Analysis (PEA).
- Excellent networking representation and influencing skills.
- Fluent in English and Ukrainian
