  • TEACHER INTERVENTION SPECIALIST DUALIMMERSION

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in the area of assignment
    2. Bilingual Authorization in Spanish (BILA)
    3. Five years or more of classroom instruction with appropriate credential to serve defined needs at school site
    4. Evidence demonstrating classroom instruction success with students in
    5. English Language Arts and/or Mathematics in target language
    6. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in target language
    7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working
    8. relationships with others
    9. Demonstrates understanding of the RTI model and Professional learning Communities

    REPORTS TO: Principal

    JOB GOAL: To implement the school site intervention program to most effectively meet the academic and behavioral needs of students designated to this program

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Works in push-in or pull-out classroom setting with groups of children to provide specific targeted instruction based on assessments and academic needs of students
    2. Assesses progress monitors and provides intervention strategies as part of RTI team
    3. Prescribes instruction to meet individual needs of students
    4. Fosters students intrinsic motivation to learn and succeed by goal setting
    5. Provides a wide variety of instructional resources and strategies in target language that supports teacher and student needs
    6. Prepares materials using target language for individualized and group instruction and may also be part of grade level deployment
    7. Demonstrates and models effective teaching methods and techniques based on current standards for the teaching profession using target language
    8. Develops students critical thinking problem solving creative collaborative and communication skills at high levels to shape resilient learners
    9. Assists Dual Immersion teachers in lesson planning and room organization as needed to facilitate Tier I intervention
    10. Participates in Professional Learning Communities as identified through grade level and student need
    11. Develops and maintains system of student record keeping in formative assessments progress monitoring and data analysis
    12. Confers with students parents teachers and specialized personnel as needed
    13. Disseminates current reading and/or math research relevant to goals of school and program
    14. Participates in District county and state meetings and trainings as directed by site administration
    15. Contributes news items of program to bulletins and other communications from school
    16. Assists in school and District testing programs
    17. Models personal and professional values of equity integrity caring collaboration personal and collective accountability
    18. Performs other related duties as assigned

    SALARY: $80145 - $133656 annually (190 day. Max salary includes educational and bilingual stipends)

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Districts Improvement of
    Professional Services handbook Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with
    collectivebargaining agreements when applicable.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operators license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
