Job Summary
Location: District wide at all schools grades: Pre K-12Responsibilities:*Provide nursing care for student illnesses chronic conditions and any acute injuries.*Administer medications and treatments/procedures as ordered.*Administer nursing care based on individual health care plans.*Assist in conducting state mandated programs such as immunization surveillance and health screenings.*Identify abnormal health findings and initiate referral to parents school personnel and/or community health resources for follow up.*Document all student health encounters and nursing interventions in the Electronic Health Record (SNAP).*Maintain confidentiality of all student records in accordance with FERPA/HIPAA :*Massachusetts RN license*Current CPR certification*Knowledge of current practices for common childhood illnesses and chronic diseases: asthma management diabetes insulin pen and pumps seizure management*Ability to perform skilled nursing care such as catheterization suctioning gastrostomy feeding tubes insulin administration insulin pump skills and nebulizer : This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
