Job Summary

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist coaches in the secondary school boys basketball athletic program

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Assist coaches in daily and long-rangeathletic activities
Assist coaches in planning the program
Conduct learning experiences under the direction of the head coacheswith small groups ofstudent athletes
Assist coaches in guiding participantstoward a harmonious team spirit
Assist in providing supervision to athletes duringperiods of team travel
Recommend to the head coach the purchase of equipment supplies anduniforms as appropriate for the health safety and welfare of studentathletes
Perform other non-coaching duties assigned by the principal athleticdirector or head coach

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Fundamentals
Health and safety regulations
Interpersonal skills using tact patience and courtesy

ABILITY TO:

Assist coaches
Understand and follow oral and written directions
Read interpret apply and explain rules regulations policies andprocedures
Lift objects weighingupto 50 pounds

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to: a high school diploma or or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
Successful completion of coaching requirement tests (KHSAA coaches certification) criminal record check and current certification infirst aid and CPR
