What you will do

Lead the development and execution of the automation and controls implementation at the NA AHU sites to drive NA AHU to Industry 4.0. Work with site Operational Excellence Leads to coordinate implementation of equipment upgrades/data collection. Provide the Automation/Controls Engineers at each site with direction and sufficient coaching to ensure automation and data collections efforts are executed on time and within budget. Provide coaching and leadership to ensure that team members are highly successful.

How you will do it

Lead the development of the operational transition to Industry 4.0 in the NA AHU sites. Lead Automation/Controls Engineers at each site to drive improvements in plant automation. Lead operational data collection analysis and reporting efforts at NA AHU sites. Lead system integration efforts moving the sites from independent machinery to connected systems. Investigate and lead implementation of autonomous robotics systems for welding brazing and assembly of components and completed air handling units. Develop digital twins of each NA AHU site and use for optimization of layout and future planning. Create operational simulations of each NA AHU site and major equipment operations to drive future equipment purchases upgrades and identify opportunities for improvement. Investigate and implement where appropriate additive manufacturing methodologies in NA AHU sites. Drive efforts to bring artificial intelligence into manufacturing optimization work instructions maintenance and data collection. Investigate and implement augmented reality technologies to aid in manufacturing and quality in NA AHU sites. Lead team with a focused problem-solving mentality driving a shift from firefighting to DMAIC approach. Drive localization and execution of the NA AHU technology roadmap strategy at each site. Lead efforts to share real-time data in Power BI or similar for communicating KPIs/OKRs manufacturing status and shipping status. Work with Operational Excellence Leads at all NA AHU sites (and other JCI sites) to drive upgrades focusing on digital transformation. Respectfully challenge the status quo and act as a role model for Lean thinking for your team. Raise the performance and talent level in the plant through active engagement with leaders and employees. Mentor coach and train throughout assigned organization. Create an inclusive culture through role modeling setting expectations and course correcting. Other duties as assigned.

What we look for:

Required

  • Must be able to lead and execute large-scale projects.
  • Must be able to travel around North America and occasionally globally.
  • Self-starter with hands-on approach required to ensure projects are advanced through the process.
  • This position requires a Bachelors degree in an appropriate field of study which could include Engineering Supply Chain Management or Operations
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering operations.
  • Leader with past functional expertise within Operations and Lean
  • Proven capability leading engineering and operations organizations.
  • Proven ability to apply and coach DFM problem solving Lean and theory of constraints practices across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to distill complex facts and data and communicate on plant level.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills ideally demonstrated when working with plant leadership-level individuals. Must be comfortable maintaining communication within all levels of the site as well as interactions with customers and visiting leaders.
  • Solid understanding ofbusiness planning processes and key business metrics to be achieved.
  • Able to work independently and achieve set goals.

$141000-$188000 (Salary to be determined by the education experience
knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with market
data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects
