Job Purpose:
GSK isseekingan experienced and Senior Director External Partnerships Oncology (ASIA) that is reporting to theHead ofAcademic and Scientific Partnerships Oncology.We are rapidly growing in Oncology anexciting time to join a newly formed Global Partnerships teamthat accelerates scientific innovation through strategic external collaborations to bring meaningful advances to patients andtheir loved ones.
In thisAsiafocusedroleyou will partner with local regional and Global Medical R&D and Commercial colleagues to design and implement a strategiccompetitiveand coordinated approach to longterm partnerships with research networks academic centres collaborative groups andsocietiesacross Asia.
You will prioritiseestablishand manage highimpact collaborationswith an emphasis on China and Japanto generate measurable scientific and clinical outcomes that support regional oncology needs and GSKs global priorities across the product lifecycle.

Whatyoullbe accountable for:
Establishingglobalteam:Contribute to the setupan operationalisationof thenewGlobalteamwithAsiaspecific ways of working
Strategicplanning:Jointly lead prioritisation and planningof highimpactpartnersthat align to strategic priorities and evidencegeneration needs.
Partnership leadership:Be a credible and trustedcontact for academic centres research networks cooperative groups and consortia in ChinaJapanand broader Asia-working alongside market relationship leadstodevelopand managerelationships.
Stakeholder collaboration:Embed effective ways of working acrosslocaland Globalteams to deliver aligned plans and outcomes.
Represent GSK:Actively represent GSKwith professionalism andexpertiseat key moments includingleading strategic meetings and events and attendingscientific conferences
Market and competitor intelligence:Maintaina forward-looking outside-in perspective by proactivelyidentifyingemergingopportunities evaluating potential partners and staying informed on competitor activities to ensure GSKremainsat the forefront of Oncology advancements.
Regulatory and compliance alignment:Ensure compliance with country specific regulatory ethical and data governance requirements
Operationalexpertise:Drive project budget and stakeholder management forpartnership initiativesanddefine and track KPIs and impactmetrics.
Keep us moving forward:Provide progress updatesand requestsfor stakeholders.
BasicQualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher in a scientific discipline.
Prior experience inestablishingand/or managing multiple external partnerships in theAsia including research networks academic centrescollaborativegroupsandsocieties.
Prior experience in building and sustaining relationships with recognised external experts (e.g. investigators network leaders society leadership).
Prior experience acting as a primary or senior point of contact for external stakeholders over time.
Effective internal stakeholder management including experience influencing decision-making with senior internal stakeholders.
Prior experience leading teams in a matrixed or cross-functional environment including settingobjectivesand priorities coordinatingdeliverablesand driving accountability.
Familiarity withlocalregulatory legal and compliance.
Key skills:
Provenexpertiseineffectiveexternal relationship development and managementwithexternal partners strong experience in China and Japan strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to build andmaintainadvocacy with recognised External Experts.
Evidence of leadership including line management experience.
Excellent stakeholder management with experience influencing regional and Global senior leaders andcross functionalteams
Strategic thinker with strong negotiation problemsolving and prioritisation skills
Stronginfluencing and negotiationskillsthat drivemutually beneficialoutcomes.
Ability to understand andeffectivelycommunicate complex scientific information.
Strength in managingmultiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
