Granby Public Schools is seeking applicants for Director of School Counseling Grades 6-12.
The Director of School Counseling will oversee all day to day operations of the school counseling departments at the secondary schools including supervising and observing a staff of school counselors and teaching assistants who serve as program leads for college and career programming and intensive counseling programs in addition to supervising the school counseling secretary. The idealcandidate should have an extensive knowledge of scheduling and course planning College Board assessments and programming and school counseling standards. The Director of School Counseling will liaison with Academic Department Leadership Pupil Services and Building Administration as part of the leadership team. The Director will coordinate 504 case management participate on the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and attendance teams and serve a key role in regards to planning advisory and developmental guidance lessons and department evening programs including 8th Grade Parent Night Junior and Senior Planning and Financial Aid Nights. The Director of School Counseling will have a reduced caseload of students needing intensive support. This is a ten month with some summer days position.
CSDE Certification for School Counselor (068)and Intermediate Administrationor Supervision (092) required and a minimumfive years experience as a School Counselorpreferred.
Compensation: A determined by the GEA contract plus the department chairperson stipend and 6 additional work days in the summer at the curriculum rate. Please see our GEA contract.
