Manufacturing Engineer - Chemical and Heat treatment - Submarines

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to work within Chemical and Heat Treatment team in Derby.
Within this role you will be part of the Core Production Chemical Processing and Heat Treatment Manufacturing Engineering Team working on a variety of special processes including acid cleaning and annealing operations. contributing towards business-critical tasks associated with the processes covering both production support and new product introduction
What you will be doing:
Working within a Team of Four (Manufacturing Engineering operations quality and production planning) to solve emergent technical issues with focus on Quality Cost & Delivery
Knowledge of DFMEA / PFMEA to influence process improvements and risk reduction
You will be maintaining engineering technical governance through the entire method of manufacture for your process area
Working with the wider business to deliver new product introduction objectives
You will have ability to manage and balance your load and capacity (resource management) to enable robust commitment and delivery
There may be an opportunity to support shift working during the production phase of the programme
Position Qualifications:
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who is/has:
Degree qualified or equivalent in an Engineering or Chemical related discipline
Communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong positive attitude and willingness to learn
Technical experience within a manufacturing environment ideally within a chemical processing or heat treatment area
Strong interpersonal skills working within a high performing Manufacturing Engineering team as well the wider operations team
Strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving skills along with knowledge of six sigma and lean techniques
Be a good communicator and able to liaise with all levels of staff
Possess excellent organisational and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting at all levels
