Job Description:
Step into a pivotal two-year fixed-term contract role managing the financial operations for a critically important national initiative focused on youth upliftment and economic empowerment. This is more than just a finance role; its an opportunity to ensure the robust delivery and sustainability of a program that is actively shaping the future workforce. You will be central to financial planning reporting and risk management for a partnership that is scaling rapidly. We are looking for high-calibre individuals who possess strong commercial acumen and a desire to apply their corporate expertise within a mission-driven environment. This position is based full-time at our clients Rosebank offices.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Planning:Drive the preparation of accurate annual budgets and detailed financial forecasts in support of program delivery and expansion goals.
- Performance Reporting:Prepare scrutinize and analyze core financial statements (Balance Sheets Income Statements Cash Flow) to provide clear insights to senior leadership and auditors.
- Decision Support Analysis:Conduct advanced financial modeling and analysis to inform strategic business decisions related to program funding and operational efficiency.
- Regulatory Stewardship:Ensure rigorous adherence to all relevant accounting standards tax legislation and broader regulatory compliance requirements for the program entity.
- Liquidity Management:Oversee daily cash flow management ensuring optimal liquidity positioning through proactive forecasting and budgeting mechanisms.
- Risk Mitigation:Proactively identify assess and implement strategies to mitigate key financial risks including market credit and operational exposures.
- Stakeholder Communication:Serve as the primary financial liaison translating complex financial data into clear actionable insights for management funding partners and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
Must-Haves (Essential)
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a closely related field.
2 to 5 years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting role with a strong record of stable employment.
Proven proficiency in financial software including advanced Excel skills and experience with formal accounting systems such as SAP or similar ERPs.
Exceptional analytical accounting and professional communication skills.
Fluency in English both written and verbal.
Nice-to-Haves (Beneficial)
Postgraduate qualification such as CA CFA or CIMA or meaningful progress toward one of these qualifications.
Experience working within the non-profit development or public sector environment.
Proficiency in one or more additional South African languages.
