Responsibilities:
- Provides direction and mechanical support to all production mechanics as required. Monitors all work in progress ensuring that a constant production workflow is maintained and equipment repairs are completed in a timely fashion.
- Maintains our parts inventory for all equipment by providing a complete list of parts to be ordered including the vendor to be used and the associated cost for each part.
- Monitor records of preventive maintenance performed on equipment and ensures that the maintenance occurs according to scheduled deadlines.
- Keeps informed of all new technology and equipment used by the technical support and production operations departments.
- Fills in and assumes all Management responsibilities in the Department Managers absence.
- Accountable to meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets on his/her shift (i.e. labor costs overtime inventory control etc.)
- Monitors and maximizes machine throughput.
- Coaches counsels motivates develops supports encourages and instructs all Technicians under direct report.
- Verifies all administrative work is filled out properly monitoring and following departmental procedures.
- Reward Recognizes and Disciplines associates.
- Maintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individuals report.
- Span of control approx: 6-8 FTAs 6-8 TEs and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations.
- Position requires daily communication/ updates with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.
- Monitors daily reports on throughput and equipment downtime giving feedback to department personnel.
- May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned

Technical/Trade School operation and repair of production equipment. bindery equipment electronic and electric circuit experience Jet/IQ
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or Technical/Trade School
- 5 years experience and a proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment.
- A proven proficiency in the operation and repair of insertion and bindery equipment electronic and electric circuit experience necessary.
- Electrical and electronics repair a plus.
- Knowledge understanding and experience of reporting tools Jet/IQ
- Experienced in Microsoft Office.
- 3 years min. supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment
Functional/technical skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to take direction and to work under pressure due to time constraints as necessary
