Rate of Pay: 24.08 - 30.57 per hour
Summary:
The Housing Enforcement Manager will lead and manage the Councils Housing Enforcement Service ensuring effective regulation of private sector housing. The role focuses on improving housing standards tackling rogue landlords overseeing enforcement activity and ensuring statutory compliance through a risk-based intelligence-led approach.
Responsibilities:
- Develop direct and manage the Housing Enforcement Service to improve housing conditions in the private rented sector
- Lead and manage Housing Enforcement Officers and associated staff ensuring high performance and effective workload management
- Oversee enforcement activity including civil penalties prosecutions rent repayment orders licensing and management orders
- Manage the licensing and regulation of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
- Ensure compliance with housing environmental health and tenancy legislation
- Work collaboratively with internal teams partner agencies landlords tenants and external stakeholders
Qualification:
- Qualified EHO with a Degree in Environmental Health
Essentials:
- Extensive experience in housing enforcement and private sector housing regulation
- Strong knowledge of HMO licensing housing standards and enforcement legislation
- Proven experience managing and leading enforcement teams
- Experience of budget management and income generation
- Excellent communication negotiation and leadership skills
