Electronics Technician III - WTRS Fort Knox Kentucky
This is an SCA role -1st shift
Responsibilities / Duties
- The Electronics Technician Maintenance III position will perform all functions required to maintain and repair electronic equipment for Aviation and Transportation School TADDS.
- Perform PMCS troubleshoot and isolate faults.
- Utilize spare/repair parts to address faults in accordance with technical guidelines.
- Research and select necessary repair parts.
- Enter work order data into the online management information system.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems beyond standard manuals.
- Supervise provide directions to and check lower-level technicians work.
- Ensure recording of all maintenance actions in the Management Information System (MIS).
- Manage site supply warehousing and storage to support maintenance and document parts usage.
- Ensure site employees complete contractual and company-required training timely.
- Other duties may be assigned
- This position may require travel to other installations and other WTRS Locations
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering Science or Information Technology from an accredited university and 10 years of experience masters degree in engineering Science or Information Technology and 5 years of experience Or 14 Years of Experience in lieu of Degree
- Certification(s): Basic Electronic Technical Certificate
- Strong customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Linux and Unix operating systems.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid drivers license and On-Post driving privileges
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGES
- Excellent written and oral communications skills attention to detail strong organizational skills computer proficiency and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical problem-solving customer service and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word PowerPoint Outlook Excel)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Stand for long periods of time.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Bend squat climb and reach.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists hands and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.
- May be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
- Experience utilizing test equipment to include torque wrenches volt/micrometers network cable crimping/testers and solder stations to support repairs
Clearance Requirement:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
