We are seeking to appoint a committed caring and enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dedicated Early Years team at a well-established primary school in Enfield North London. As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher and the wider Early Years team to support children in Nursery and/or Reception. You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum ensuring that learning experiences are engaging developmentally appropriate and responsive to the needs of individual children.
You will support children across all areas of learning including communication and language physical development personal social and emotional development literacy and mathematics. The role requires a patient observant and nurturing practitioner who understands how young children learn through play exploration and positive interaction with adults and peers.
This position is well suited to someone who is enthusiastic about early years education and who is committed to supporting childrens holistic development during this critical stage of learning.
The successful EYFS Teaching Assistant will be expected to carry out a wide range of duties including:
Supporting the class teacher in the planning and delivery of learning activities in line with the EYFS framework
Working with individual children and small groups to support learning development and early intervention
Supporting childrens communication and language development including listening skills vocabulary development and early phonics
Encouraging the development of personal social and emotional skills such as confidence independence cooperation and self-regulation
Supporting learning through structured activities and child-initiated play both indoors and outdoors
Assisting with the observation assessment and recording of childrens progress and achievements
Helping to create and maintain a safe clean and stimulating learning environment
Supporting children during daily routines including arrival transitions between activities mealtimes and toileting where required
Encouraging positive behaviour and modelling appropriate social interactions and routines
Supporting children with additional needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
Working collaboratively with teachers Early Years practitioners and other members of staff
We are looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who is caring reliable and committed to supporting young childrens learning and wellbeing. You should have a genuine interest in early childhood development and the ability to build positive trusting relationships with children and adults.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Experience working with children in an EYFS setting such as a primary school nursery or early years provision
A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A calm patient and nurturing approach to working with young children
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility and adaptability in a busy classroom environment
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
A relevant early years or childcare qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable although candidates with relevant experience and a willingness to develop professionally are encouraged to apply.
