We are seeking a dedicated enthusiastic and professional Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our well-established and inclusive primary school in Hounslow West London. The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the Early Years team to support children in Nursery and Reception. You will assist in delivering a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate engaging and aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
You will help create a safe and nurturing learning environment where children can explore experiment and develop across all areas of learning including communication and language literacy numeracy personal social and emotional development and physical skills. You will also support childrens transition between activities daily routines and interactions with their peers ensuring they feel confident secure and motivated to learn.
This role is ideal for an individual who is patient observant and empathetic and who understands the importance of play-based learning in building foundational skills for lifelong education.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons and activities aligned with the EYFS framework
Working with individual children and small groups to support their learning and development
Supporting childrens communication and language development including listening speaking and early literacy skills
Encouraging the development of personal social and emotional skills such as confidence independence cooperation and resilience
Facilitating learning through structured activities and child-initiated play both indoors and outdoors
Supporting physical development including fine and gross motor skills
Observing recording and reporting on childrens progress and achievements to the class teacher
Helping maintain a safe organised and stimulating learning environment
Supporting children during daily routines including arrivals transitions snack times and toileting
Assisting children with additional needs under the guidance of the class teacher or SENCo
Collaborating effectively with teachers Early Years practitioners and other staff members
Maintaining professional conduct and contributing positively to the ethos of the school
We are looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who is caring patient and committed to supporting the learning and development of young children. You should have a genuine interest in early childhood education and the ability to build positive relationships with children colleagues and families.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Experience working with children in an EYFS or similar early years setting
A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and child development principles
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting children and colleagues
A calm positive and nurturing attitude
A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
A relevant qualification in early years or childcare (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable although candidates with strong experience and a willingness to learn and develop professionally are encouraged to apply.
